Do you have Big Feet? One big idea to increase your footprint.

What I really mean is how big is your digital footprint?

The key to being found online is by claiming your space on the web a.k.a. increasing “Your Digital Footprint.”  I recommend you read “How Big is your digital footprint,” by my friend Darin Persinger (@DarinPersiger) to get a better understanding of the term.  In this post I’m going to share one BIG idea that’ll Double your Digital Footprint.

Doubling Your Digital Footprint

Every time you post (photo, status update, blog post, radio show, video, etc) it adds to your footprint.  Essentially, your footprint is the content you’ve published to the web which points back to you either by link or by reference.

If you’re already creating content this is going to be really easy for you. All you have to do to double your footprint is syndicate your content.

Wondering what I mean by Syndicating Your Content?

Let’s say you wrote this post today and published it, is that the end of its life cycle?

Not one the web…

You can easily take that very same blog post and syndicate it to an article marketing directory like eZine articles.  Now that post will have a second chance to be found on Google PLUS You’ve doubled the size of your footprint.

I just helped you double the size of your footprint in less than 200 words.  Want more?  Then Subscribe for daily updates.

I have been told that posting the same content in more than one place actually reduces your SEO – is that wrong?

  • Hey Stacie- in my opinion syndicating your content with proper planning increases chances of being found online. SEO is changing – let me ask you this – are you trying to be an expert on SEO, or are you just trying to be found online.

If it’s the latter syndication could increase your authority on a subject. Why not try it out for a month and let me know how it works for you?

  • Thanks, this is something I was just reading about, but didn’t know how to get started.

  • Wait until you see how deep this really goes. I’ll be writing more about syndication and linking in the future – it’ll either excite you or boggle your mind – either way it’ll be good stuff 😉
